CEN, CENELEC and ETSI have received a mandate by European Commission to provide standardisation deliverables regarding nanotechnologies and nanomaterials. The mandated work will be carried out within CEN/TC 352 and AFNOR will deal with the administrative management of the standardization work.

IEC, ISO and ITU are launching a competition open to everyone, to design a poster illustrating the 2012 World Standards Day theme: “Less waste, better results – Standards increase efficiency”. The designer(s) of the best poster will win 1 500 Swiss francs, with the 3 runners-up receiving 500 Swiss francs each.
Marine and transport activities are a major world business but they are lacking of harmonization in insurance processes. The French standard "Exchange format in marine and transport insurance" (NF Z67-137), developed by major marine insurers and brokers will serve as basis for this European project.
