Help us choose the World Standards Day poster for 2012! Vote until 1 June 2012
This year ISO, IEC and ITU organized a worldwide contest to select the World Standards Day poster for 2012. Help us choose which poster you would like to represent standards organizations by voting for your favorite one out of the top 22.
Each year on 14 October, the members of the IEC, ISO and ITU celebrate World Standards Day, which is a means of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of the thousands of experts worldwide who develop the voluntary technical agreements that are published as international standards. This year, the theme is: “Less waste, better results – Standards increase efficiency”.
The International standards such as those from IEC, ISO and ITU are crucial for increasing efficiency. This issue has come to the forefront as global challenges like sustainability and financial uncertainty mean that organizations are challenged to achieve better results with less waste.
Quite simply, efficiency indicates the ability to achieve objectives by implementing processes to develop products or services of optimal quality with minimal waste, expense, or unnecessary effort. It helps organizations maximize profits and meet their goals, and is crucial for success in today’s challenging and competitive economic environment.
