Istanbul metro line 2 is certified NF Service « Urban transport Passenger »

At the end of 2006 ISTANBUL-ULASIM Transport and STIB (Brussels’ Public Transports, also certified NF Service) signed a cooperation contract to enable Istanbul ‘s first metro line – Line 2 – to reach ‘Service’ certification.


ISTABUL ULASIM Transport carries more than 200 million passengers every year on its network and is ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS certified by TUV.


The audit was carried out from 6th to 8th January 2009 by Philippe PORTUGUES as lead auditor, and Isabelle DUARTE (AFNOR Certification). The few minor discrepancies were lifted on 13th of February, and Istanbul metro line 2 is certified NF Service « Urban transport Passenger » . This means that this line is compliant with the certification rules NF 281, NF 286 and to the European standard NF EN 13816 for passenger public transport.


Pelin SAVRAN, General Manager of the AFNOR Group franchise in Turkey can now count on a new reference in certification and hopefully more business opportunities with ISTANBUL-ULASIM Transport in the future
