Solutechq Morocco 2009

SOLUTECHQ 2009, the exhibition dedicated to solutions and quality management tools, celebrated its 10th anniversary this year.


This exhibition, which is held every two years, is organized by the Ministry of Industry, Trade and New Technologies, and is sponsored by the CGEM “Confédération Générale des Entreprises du Maroc ” – the Trade Association of Moroccan firms.


The theme for this year’s exhibition was «which management and which governance for sustainable efficiency?». It was chosen in response to the many questions generated by the current worldwide crisis. Many services companies - directly or indirectly linked with quality management – participate in this exhibition; it enables decision makers and managers, eager to set up a sustainable development policy in their company, to access specific and specialized information through conferences and workshops organized during this event. AFAQ AFNOR MAROC participated in this year’s event, and as in previous years, presented a stand and took part in two workshops : one on ISO 22000 led by Olivier BOUTOU in co-operation with the LESIEUR CRISTAL’ s QES Director, and the other on Sustainable Development led by Stéphane MATHIEU.


This year gave a very accurate overview of the general feeling about quality management business in Morocco. Quality management is losing its credibility with company decision-makers and the fact they were not present is the best proof. This lack of interest is the result of several factors such as the presence of more than 15 certification bodies (accredited and non-accredited), the implementation of quality management systems that have no added value, and the inaccurate interpretation of standards’ requirements.


However, AFAQ AFNOR MAROC also participated into two conferences and a round table discussion, on the topic of the « future of the certification ». During this round table, the creation of the ACM – Certification bodies Association in Morocco - was announced by its president Mr. Omar BENAICHA, Bureau Veritas General Director in Morocco., with AFAQ AFNOR MAROC as one of the permanent members of the presidium. This body will attempt to bring back credibility to quality management, a sector that is going through a period of uncertainty on the Moroccan market.
