French stakeholders for sustainable building join forces to play and communicate internationally with a single voice

France GBC partners have signed a Charter which aims at starting off its activities as the French representative organisation in the international World Green Building Council; this network aims at accelerating the transformation of building industry towards more environmentally friendly practices.

France GBC is being constituted gradually under the impulsion of sustainable building institutions such as EFFINERGIE Association, HQE Association, QUALITEL Association and its subsidiary companies CERQUAL and CEQUAMI, RESOBAT Association, CSTB and its subsidiary companies CERTIVEA and CEQUAMI, the AFNOR Group and its subsidiary company AFNOR Certification and the IFPEB Institut (French Institute for Energy Performance in Buildings).

After signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on November 2009, they recently signed a Charter which aims at starting off the activities of France GBC, as the French representative organisation in the international World Green Building Council (World GBC) network. France Green Building Council is also supported by “Plan Bâtiment Grenelle”, the national French State taskforce for greening the building industry. France GBC aims at raising awareness among the Building sector on the environmental quality of buildings in France and aims at conveying a strong and coordinated French position in this area internationally.

The World GBC is an international network founded in 2002, with a mission to accelerate the transformation of building industry towards more respectful practices for the environment. The WorldGBC bases on national councils which aim at creating favourable conditions for the development of the global “green building” market.
