Lighters and child-resistance: call for project leader for the development of a study

Following European Commission's request (Mandate M/427), CEN/PC 355 "Lighters" is undertaking an in depth review of European Standard EN 13869:2002 dealing with standardization of child resistance for lighters.


In order to provide CEN/PC 355 with some significant technical input, a study relative to child resistance requirements for cigarette lighters is necessary. The development of this study will be financially supported by a grant agreement between EC/EFTA and CEN.


The Framework Partnership Agreement between European Commission and CEN requires that the participation in financially supported ring trial is based on a call for tender in CEN.


Enclosed please find the call for an external project leader, which includes the work programme and the specific tasks which are to be carried out. Experts/laboratories interested in developing this study are kindly invited to send their application via e-mail to Grégory BERTHOU, CEN/PC 355 Secretary by 2010-08-15 at the latest.
