'AFAQ Environment step by step’ is built on a three-tier system:


  • Level 1: Management policy statement, definition and implementation of an action plan centred on an analysis of the principle sources of environmental damage and crosschecking against the applicable regulations.
  • Level 2: Definition of an environmental policy, environmental and regulatory analysis, environmental management programme, operational control, emergency situations, awareness-building, management review.
  • Level 3 (tier matching to ISO 14001 certification): finalizing the Management System by drafting formal procedures governing key components such as documentation, definition of roles and responsibilities, routinized system surveillance and improvement cycles (internal audit, corrective action, management review, among other components)

Each audit of each level is followed up with a keynote audit report setting out your strengths and your areas for improvement.


Each annual audit is a crossroads: you choose to step up to the next level or opt to maintain and consolidate the level achieved.
