Claude Satinet, former Managing Director of Automobiles Citroën, appointed Chairman of the Board of AFNOR

On June 22nd, Claude Satinet, former Director General of Automobiles Citroën and former board member of PSA Peugeot Citroen, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of AFNOR. He is the successor of Francois Ailleret, president since 2002 and whose mandate could not be renewed.


Born in July 1944, Claude Satinet graduated Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications. He joined the Automobiles Citroën group in 1973.


After various positions within the group, he was appointed Deputy Managing Director of Automobiles Citroën in 1994. In 1998 he took the general direction of Automobiles Citroën and became a member of PSA Peugeot Citroen’s Executive Directory, until 2007.


Since 2004 he is member of the Strategic Council for Information Technology, headed by the Prime Minister. From 2006 to 2009, he has also been Chairman of the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Telecommunications.


AFNOR Group is an association serving the public interest and the economic development. It consists of the association AFNOR and its subsidiaries. The missions of general interest are insured by the association as defined by a decree giving it the animation and coordination of the French standardization system, the representation of French interests in European and international standardization organisations and the development and distribution of standards.
