Accessibility and Regulatory Developments: Understanding the European Landscape, 
from the regulatory framework to changes in practice

Accessibility is currently undergoing a major transformation across Europe. With the implementation of the European Accessibility Act (EEA), a new framework is taking shape: one characterized by an increasingly close integration of regulatory requirements and voluntary standards.

For both public and private organizations, the challenge is twofold: understanding their obligations and preparing for their practical implementation. Beyond compliance, standards play a key role. They translate legal requirements into operational solutions, facilitate the harmonization of the European market, and help ensure that accessibility measures remain effective over the long term.

This workshop is designed to provide you with the tools you need to navigate this new landscape, helping you clarify the obligations under the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and their timeline, anticipate upcoming regulatory developments, understand the interplay between digital technology, services, and the built environment, and identify how accessibility can serve as a driver of design and innovation at the intersection of design, performance, and user experience.
