Quality as a Lever: Standards, Documentation, and Management

In our professional environments, the word “quality” is everywhere: quality of service, data quality, quality constraints, and so on. Yet it is often viewed in black-and-white terms: an ideal to strive for, despite resources deemed insufficient. What if we changed our perspective by considering things from the users’ point of view?

The ISO 9001 standard encourages us to view quality as a dynamic process: a means of continuously improving our governance, management, services, and products for our users. It is not just a matter of checking boxes, but of fundamentally transforming our organizations.

Through the standards and guidelines currently in effect in the field of information and documentation, this seminar—co-organized by the BnF and AFNOR with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Space—aims to illustrate how a quality-focused approach can become a true driver of performance. Because quality is not a constraint, but an opportunity: the opportunity to better serve, innovate, and progress collectively.
