Identify major changes between two versions of a standard at a glance

It can be difficult to compare two versions of the same standard when it has been revised. To make this task easier, AFNOR Editions is launching a comparison service that highlights the main changes: Redlines+ Standards Comparator.

When a voluntary standard changes, organizations that use it must update their practices. This is exactly what happened in 2015, when two key standards were updated: ISO 9001 on quality management and ISO 14001 on environmental management. However, comparing the two versions of a standard, the old and the new, is a tedious task. Yet it is essential in order to bring products and services into compliance with the new requirements. This step requires a lot of time and resources, with the risk of missing important changes.

With this in mind, AFNOR Editions has developed a unique and innovative service for its customers: Redlines+ Standards Comparator. Available from the AFNOR Editions store, as an option on Saga Web, and soon on Webport, it allows you to dynamically compare two versions of a standard. At a glance, you can see all the major changes between the new and old versions. This saves time and allows you to immediately prioritize the changes made.

An intuitive tool

The changes made between the two versions of the standard are highlighted in a single document. You can identify the modified chapters and the number of changes per chapter in the table of contents, and access a summary of the main changes. Finally, you can interactively display the different types of changes (additions, deletions, modifications) throughout the entire document (text, figures, tables, formulas).

Redlines+ The standards comparison tool is available for the entire collection of AFNOR standards in force, as soon as a standard replacing another standard is published. This is available throughout the year, as and when official publications are released.
