CSR Policy
The AFNOR association, which is responsible for a mission of general interest, together with its subsidiaries, forms an international group dedicated to sustainable development. It designs and deploys solutions based on standards, which have been a source of progress and trust since 1926. Five values guide the group's actions: collective spirit, responsibility, trust, quality, and openness.

Our values
Trust
The AFNOR Group is an independent trusted third party. Trust is the foundation of economic and social exchanges, and it is the result of proven processes that we put into practice every day.
Collective
We believe in collective intelligence. Because benchmarks are only valuable if they are shared by everyone, we always act within a framework of co-construction, which values the collective intelligence of all stakeholders.
Responsibility
Responsibility is essential for the AFNOR Group, which is committed to a more desirable and sustainable future. This spirit of responsibility is reflected in a strong ethical code and constant vigilance in a constantly changing world, with a desire to support major transitions in an informed, serious, and transparent manner.
Quality
Quality is a cross-cutting issue in all of the AFNOR Group's activities; it is the very DNA of the AFNOR Group. It reflects rigor, high standards, and the high level of performance expected, but also the robustness of the methodologies deployed and our recognized reliability. It forms the basis of our legitimacy and credibility.
Openness
Openness reflects our mindset, which is characterized by attentiveness and curiosity, enabling us to identify opportunities and decipher trends in order to anticipate major transitions and promote interoperability. This ability, when applied to cooperation, helps prevent our horizons from narrowing and supports European and international action.
Social responsibility
In a spirit of continuous improvement, the AFNOR Group bases its corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy on the principles and recommendations of the voluntary standard NF EN ISO 26000 . Called "Together Responsible," it is based on four pillars:
Ethics and governance
As a trusted source since 1926, the AFNOR Group must demonstrate ethics and loyalty. We have therefore adopted a ethical charter , which is implemented in particular through declarations of interest by our directors, a policy on the prevention and management of conflicts of interest, and other provisions specific to our activities... all under the supervision of a ethics committee .
Consequently, the group is committed to putting three principles into practice: transparency, fairness, and dialogue. These commitments are reflected in particular in our responsible purchasing policy, which is aligned with the standard. NF ISO 20400 , information security, and data protection, as evidenced by our certification. NF EN ISO/IEC 27001 , the prevention of all forms of corruption in accordance with the standard NF ISO 37001 , as well as our responsible use of artificial intelligence, inspired by the standard ISO/IEC 42001:2023 , our membership in the European Commission's AI Pact and our commitment to the coalition for sustainable AI .
Finally, we are committed to listening to our stakeholders and taking their expectations into account by forging ever closer relationships with them.
Social commitment
The AFNOR Group provides its customers and stakeholders with the expertise and skills of its employees. It is therefore natural that social commitment is a key focus of its corporate social responsibility policy.
AFNOR supports the development and adaptation of its employees' jobs and skills to meet changing customer needs by anticipating changes in products, services, and technologies. This approach is part of its human resources management and workforce planning policy, inspired by the standard. NF ISO 30409 .
The AFNOR Group is also committed to creating a positive working environment, conditions conducive to overall health and quality of life at work, promoting professional equality, combating gender-based and sexual violence in the workplace (VSST), promoting diversity and inclusion, and maintaining a high-quality social dialogue.
Environment and climate
The AFNOR Group intends to participate in global climate and environmental action. It endorses the Paris Agreement, which aims to limit the increase in average temperatures to below 2°C by 2100 compared to pre-industrial levels.
To do this, it provides solutions that enable its customers to be at the forefront of environmental issues: eco-labels, energy audits, certification of environmental management systems according to the standard NF EN ISO 14001 , methodological assistance with life cycle analysis, etc.
The group is committed internally to limiting the environmental impact of its activities by reducing its energy consumption, making better use of its waste, conserving resources, and reducing its carbon footprint in accordance with the standard. NF EN ISO 14064-1 , and by controlling the impact of its use of digital technology on the environment and climate.
Regional development
The group aims to engage with local communities for their benefit. Beyond its headquarters in La Plaine Saint-Denis, it cultivates close relationships with local partners in each of its locations in France and around the world. This dialogue extends to virtual communities that interact online.
The group is committed to putting its knowledge at the service of the regions where it operates, sharing it with new communities, and supporting those who contribute to society.
Pay Equity Index
In 2025, the overall score for the gender pay equality index was 97 out of 100, which is 22 points above the legal requirement.
