Organization and governance
AFNOR, an association governed by the French Law of 1901, is administered by a board of directors consisting of no more than 30 members—all legal entities—selected to ensure broad and balanced representation of the various stakeholders. The Interministerial Delegate for Standardization attends the board’s meetings and serves as the government commissioner.

We hereby inform the reader that, due to the publication of Decree 2026-93 amending Decree 2009-697 of June 16, 2009, on standardization—which places the Audit and Evaluation Committee (CAE) under the DGE effective April 1, 2026— the reference to the CAE in Article 6 of AFNOR’s Articles of Incorporation and Article 8 of AFNOR’s Bylaws, as well as Article 10 of AFNOR’s Articles of Incorporation and Article 15 of AFNOR’s Bylaws, have become obsolete.
