PACA: a program to help contractors and suppliers work better together
In June 2016, the AFNOR group launched a program to help principals and suppliers from all sectors work better together in Provence-Alpes Côte-d’Azur. The challenge: to define common benchmarks for corporate social responsibility in eighteen months.
Social, economic and environmental criteria are flourishing in calls for tender. While the intention is laudable, the objective is difficult to fully achieve. Lack of relevance of requests to the supplier’s activities, time spent formalizing several questionnaires, contradictory objectives, etc. The process can be time-consuming and even counter-productive, for suppliers and principals alike.
This situation reveals a lack of communication between the buyer, who expresses his needs, and the service provider, who is capable of meeting them. It was therefore necessary to take stock and speak the same language. That’s why we’ve launched a project in the PACA region, in which contractors and suppliers will work together to develop best practices in this area.
Eighteen months to make progress
All companies in the Provence-Alpes Côte-d’Azur region, of all sizes and in all business sectors, are invited to take part. The project is led by the PACA-Corse delegation of the AFNOR group, in partnership with the Capenergies competitiveness cluster.
It will begin in June 2016, and over the next eighteen months, participants will be invited to take part in a series of fun-filled role-playing days and sub-group work sessions. . Participants will also take part in collaborative workshops. The aim: to collect and analyze examples of best practice, from both buyers and suppliers, in order to develop a shared methodology. And this, on two purchasing families, chosen in advance by the participants.
Semi-group support will be offered to experiment with the defined methodology and share feedback. A guide will then be distributed.
Preferential rates
After deducting the valuable financial support of the Provence-Alpes Côte-d’Azur Region, participation in this program amounts to €950 (excl. VAT) for VSEs with fewer than 20 employees, €1,350 (excl. VAT) for SMEs with between 20 and 250 employees, and €2,450 (excl. VAT) for companies with more than 250 employees.
