First opus on coaching: meeting the challenges of a changing world, by Jérôme Curnier
Jérôme Curnier presents a new book with a comprehensive approach to the issues of change and mutation. This is the first in a series of articles on support and coaching approaches, far from toolboxes and instruction manuals.
Is this book really necessary, given that everything has probably been theorized, said, written and practiced about coaching? What’s the point of repeating the same or almost the same stories, the same or almost the same diagnoses, the same or almost the same recipes, all of which have already been trotted out?
It’s all in the “or almost”. The interest of this book and of the Coaching global collection lies in the interstices, in the links that each person builds to give meaning to what they experience internally and what they experience of the world around them, to find their own motivations, to be and act where they are… Jérôme Curnier capitalizes here on all his experience to offer the first volume in a series of books made up of links, bridges and dynamics, relating to the practice of coaching. The added value of a system always comes from the links forged between each of its components, and its ability to interact with its environment to feed off it and survive.
A FIRST VOLUME TO DISCOVER
Faced with the loss of traditional points of reference, be they economic, social, organizational, sociological, psychological or existential, making sense becomes the real challenge. Jérôme Curnier’s first volume provides food for thought and an in-depth diagnosis of the situation. It also offers a range of personal and professional development programs designed to help you excel and shine.
While the emphasis is on analysis and reflection, the author never forgets to take on board the “on-the-ground” aspects of the issues he tackles, drawing on his years of experience in the corporate world. The book provides a global vision of corporate coaching, with in-depth knowledge of coherent practices. He also reveals how they fertilize each other, bringing to light links between theorists, authors and practitioners that no one else before him had perceived or taken the time to formulate.
About the author
After graduating from business school and gaining an MBA, Jérôme Curnier spent some fifteen years in the IT industry (software publishers and IT services companies), including four years in the USA. He then gradually turned to supporting change in individuals, teams and organizations, undergoing a profound reconfiguration of his professional identity.
In January 2007, he founded the maïeutis institute, which brings together support professionals (coaches, therapists and HR consultants). Its vocation is to support economic players in their professional development with a strong personal impact, as well as in their personal development with a professional vocation.
For 15 years now, he has been helping managers, executives and executive committees to develop collective intelligence and cooperation within companies.
He teaches the profession of professional coach, supervises coaches and gives lectures on how to understand the changes underway, and how to support them so that human beings can assume their responsibilities and act as upright human beings.
With this first book, he has chosen to disseminate his methodology for the common good.
